This policy explains what personal data Saqf collects, where it is stored, and the choices you have. We’ve written it in plain language — no legal maze.
Where your data is stored
Saqf is hosted on servers in Frankfurt, Germany (European Union). The EU has some of the strongest data-protection law in the world, and all data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
What we collect
Your name, email, and phone number; the properties, units, and leases you manage or rent; and your payment records (amounts, dates, method, and any cheque or transfer references). Photos and files you choose to upload (payment proof, bills, repair photos, lease documents) and the messages in a repair request. If you use Pin on map, Saqf reads your phone’s location once to place the pin; only the pin you save is kept.
What is optional
ID numbers and ID papers are optional. A landlord may record a tenant’s ID number, and a tenant may upload an ID paper, only if they choose to. Saqf never requires them.
Tenant details entered by a landlord
A landlord can record a tenant’s name, phone, email and, if they choose, an ID number. The landlord is responsible for having the right to record them. If you are a tenant, you can ask us for a copy of what is held about you, or for its deletion.
Saqf is your own record book
Saqf does not register a lease or a payment with any government, and its receipts are not government documents.
Where your data goes & your agreement
Our servers are in Germany. If you are outside the European Union, using Saqf means your personal data is stored and processed there, outside your country. Brevo (France, inside the EU) sends sign-in codes by email. Two services outside the EU help run Saqf and use the data only for that: Resend (USA) sends Saqf’s other emails, such as receipts and notices, and Google Firebase sends notifications and error reports. We ask for your agreement before you start.
How we use your data
Only to provide the service: managing properties, tenancies, payments, reminders, and statements. We never sell your data or use it for advertising. Messages sent through Tell Saqf, with any screenshot, are kept for 12 months and then deleted. If something goes wrong in the app, from the moment it opens, it sends an error report to Google Firebase (Crashlytics), which may handle it outside the EU: what went wrong and where in the app’s code, the phone model and Android version, and a random install number — never your name, email or money records.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correct it, or request its deletion at any time. Withdrawing consent means we can no longer provide the service, so your account would be closed.
